These auger bits come from a factory located near Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam which is operated by the Onishi manufacturing corporation of Japan. These bits are made of carbon steel with a hardness of 55HRC, made according to Japanese industry standard JIS G4051. The heat treatment is made through induction hardening as commonly used for drill bits made in Japan. With this hardening process the inside of the drill remains soft and thus the bit is more difficult to break. With these bits you buy Japanese industrial quality at a very low price.
